King & Benton appoints Vice President of Finance and Business Development

King & Benton, a leading commercial real estate developer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Higgins as Vice President, Finance and Business Development. Scott, based in Brantford, will lead the organization’s treasury, accounting, budget, tax and audit activities as well as direct and coordinate activities to achieve profit and return on capital.

Scott is an experienced real estate professional and most recently held the position of Manager of Real Estate with TD Commercial Banking where he was responsible for managing and development of the firm’s real estate banking division in South Central Ontario. He directly led the arrangement of over $200 million in new construction and development loans for properties across the real estate investment spectrum.

Other recent involvements include a lead role in the planning and community/industry consultation with respect to the Smart Growth and Reurbanization initiatives in Waterloo Region, an active member of the Waterloo Regional Homebuilder’s Association & the Guelph Development Association, and a leading proponent of the development and construction of Affordable Housing projects throughout Ontario.
